Considered to be amongst the best in the Mediterranean world, Lebanese food is all about copious amounts of flavour and is packed with freshness and deliciousness.

The popularity of this cuisine in India can be easily marked by the number of Shwarma joints popping up. Shwarma has actually become a great street snack and can be bought for as less as Rs. 50 with green chutney and mayonnaise. Not only shwarma, but mezze platter is another dish that one would easily find in a restaurant, even though it may not even specialise in Mediterranean food.

Taking the gaining popularity of this cuisine into perspective, Chef Ashish Singh, one of the contestants of Masterchef India, along with this friends, decided to come up with a little outlet, named Lub Lub Lebanese in Baani Square, that offers a very limited variety of Lebanese delicacies.

Done up in hues of white and yellow, the place has a very vibrant vibe and can accommodate around 20 pax. The live kitchen is a nice element to this restaurant, where you can see your food getting prepared and can be rest assured with the hygiene and cleanliness factor.

Without focusing on the authenticity factor, I would certainly say that they have the best shwarmas that I’ve had till now in Delhi NCR region. Nine inch rolls, packed with juicy meaty goodness, these shwarmas are no less than a meal in themselves. Available in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, these are hands down a must have.

Pair it with their special drink, TWISAD and you’ll be good to go. A refreshing drink prepared with apricot and peach juice, TWISAD packs a punch with the freshness of mint. While waiting for my falafel and hummus chicken ras asfour to arrive, I gorged down the light and healthy fattoush salad made with cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes and most importantly, pita chips. Fresh and creamy hummus, topped with spiced morsels of chicken along with their in-house baked pita bread were indeed impressive and so was the falafel, which unlike other places where I’ve tried, was not as dry and went well with the hummus and tzatziki.

Overall, I had a rather good experience at LLL and would certainly come back to experience it all over again. Though I hope that they add on a few more dishes to their menu. A dessert or two would do the trick.

Confession: If you’re looking for a place to quicky grab onto a delicious and healthy meal, without burning a hole in your pocket, then you’ll surely Luv Luv Lub Lub Lebanese!
