Must haves: Chipotle chicken taco, sriracha chicken rice bowl, caramel banana shake
Who wouldn’t mind a huge bowl of nachos, loaded up with jalapeños, chunks of meat and melting cheese along with some sour cream and fresh tomato salsa ? The crunch of the taco in contrast to the succulence of the meat filling, the softness of a burrito filled with beans and flavourful rice and the wholesomeness of a bowl of rice bowl packed with spices, Mexican food sounds as good as it tastes.
If you’re one who thinks like this and are craving to to indulge into a delicious and fulfilling Mexican fare, without burning a hole in your pocket, then Twisted Tacos is the place to go.
Offering a variety of tacos, burritos, Quesidellas, salads and rice bowls, the little kitchen at Twisted Tacos is all set to take your tastebuds across Mexico and Asia. Confused ?
That’s the “Twisted” part of Twisted Tacos, where they’re offering not only the traditional pulled lamb or chilli con carne but also chicken tikka and sriracha chicken based dishes.
Done up in fuss-free interiors and equipped with an open kitchen, the outlet can accommodate around 10-15 people and is located at the back side SDA market, near Fat Lulus.
Coming down to the food, if you’re the one with tough taste buds, then their sriracha chicken and chipotle chicken tacos are a must have! Packed with a bunch of spices and chunks of juicy chicken, these are their best sellers and are certainly not for those who detest a bit of heat in their food. The spice can certainly be mellowed down with their fulfilling and thick shakes. While the chocoholic in you will be satisfied with the brownie nutella shake, I’d recommend the banana caramel shake that has the perfect amount of sweetness that a shake needs. And if shakes don’t go down your alley, then their lemon nana, a take on lemonade with lots of blended mint leaves, will be refreshing in the current day heat.
If you’re in hunt for something more fulfilling, then their rice bowls are what you should opt for. A bed of delicious mexican rice, topped with a portion of greens and your choice of topping, served along with fresh tomato salsa and sour cream. While chicken will never disappoint, you can go in for the char grilled cottage cheese for a unusual yet delicious take.
Confession: Simple and hygienic, the food at Twisted Tacos is worth regular visits and does not burn a hole in your pocket. The desserts on the other hand need to be amped up a bit to offer an overall great experience.
