If you’re tired of going all the way to Gurgaon to enjoy a pint or two of good freshly brewed beer or are in search of a casual diner that is replete with luxury and plush interiors or if you’re simply wanting to unwind a monotonous day in style, this newbie in town is sure to leave you awed!

Touted as the first brewery in the capital, Royal Brewery Bistro has opened its gates for the public in the beautiful Royal Plaza Hotel in Janpath, and will offer 6 types of draft beers, that will be brewed at the pub itself, along with some impressive cocktails and good food.

A place where the beer connoisseurs could take a trip to, Royal Brewery Bistro, has at its disposal, some great Italian dishes along with the customary finger food.

Done up in warm wooden hues, the place boasts of warm and vibrant interiors, that are marked by plush leather sofas, antique artifacts, edison bulb lighting along with a huge bar, that is well equipped to offer some commendable concoctions.

My meal at RBB began on a healthy note with their shrimp and avacado salad, and some buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad. While I enjoyed the shrimp salad, I’d anyday pick the simplistic buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad, that had a mellow hint of pesto sauce. The quintessential Italian dishes, pasta and pizza, followed next and tasted fairly good. The house special thin crust pizza was topped with green chillies, mushrooms, black olives and sun dried tomatoes, and didn’t have the capacity to go wrong. The vegetarian tacos didn’t really meet the cut, and lacked adequate filling. A few more vegetables and cheese would make it just fine. The dish of the day would be the New Zealand lamb chops, that were topped with rosemary jus and came along with mashed potatoes and tossed vegetables.

The overall experience was dampened when it came to the most important part of the meal, the desserts. A tasting platter arrived, that consisted of tiny portion of mocha pot de creme, lemon berry savarian, chocolate fantasy platter and Mango-Basil Vacherin. Sadly enough, none of them could help me end my meal on a delicious sweet note!

Confession: When looking for a place to find good brewed beer, Royal Brewery Bistro should certainly come to your mind. The food and drinks are good enough to offer you a good experience. A slight improvement in the service and a new dessert menu would help take RBB to new heights.
