Butter. It just makes everything taste so good that one cannot just say no(At least the ones who’re not counting calories and gorging on to salads!).
Now imagine a hot stuffed naan, that is crisp and golden, being slithered with butter, then crushed with hands, and is then again topped with butter. If this has got you drooling already, then this post is for you!
The lanes of pagarganj will never disappoint the foodie in you. Famous for some drool-worthy chur chur naans, a lot of eateries have started offering these fulfilling naans, but Chawla de Mashoor Naan is the place where you should definitely go, while you’re paying a visit to this cramped area of Delhi.
Located at chowk multani dhanda, the place is around 20 minutes walk from the metro station and does not offer you a place to sit. You simply stand on the tables laid outside, and enjoy their offerings.
To regain all the calories that I lost while I was walking towards the outlet, I chose to dig into their chur chur naan thali, which are sure to fill you up to the brim, without leaving a hole in your pocket(average price of the naan is Rs. 100). The thali comprises of two stuffed butter chur chur naans along with a delicious chole sabzi, spicy mix dal, raita, salad and chutney.
I tried the aloo pyaz, paneer and mix chur chur naan thali, and hands down, these turned out to be much better than what I had expected. Stuffed generously and loaded with buttery goodness, these crispy naans were so good, that I had no other option, but to get it packed and take it back home for family. They certainly didn’t have the flavour after I got them back home, but nonetheless, tasted great.
Amongst the three, the mix chur chur naan had to be the undisputed winner, because of the stuffing which had gone into it, which had more flavours, as compared to the rest. The chole and dal which come along pair beautifully well with the naan, making this place, a must try!
Confession: Happy to report, all those calories were worth it and I didn’t end up regretting a bit.
