Impromptu catch up plans with friends often end up at a coffee place, but what if you’re hungry and need a place to grab a bite or two?
Well if you’re in or near Malviya Nagar, then this problem is solved because you have this quaint little cafe called The Pepper Kitchen at your disposal.
Located in the main market of Malviya Nagar, this blue themed, fuss-free cafe has a beautiful menu that takes a ride over cafe staples like sandwiches, burgers, pizzas et al.
To get respite from the soaring temperatures synonymous with Delhi summers, I ordered a refreshing watermelon lemonade. This was followed by slices of perfectly grilled cheese garlic bread that came along with tomato ketchup and were indeed picture-worthy.
On recommendation, I ordered myself a bowl of pink sauce penne pasta and even though it wasn’t the best that I’ve had, it wasn’t that bad either. I would like liked it to be a little more saucy so that I could use the garlic bread that came along with it to scrape off the delicious creamy sauce. The triple layer chicken club sandwich was a three layered sandwich which had layers of grilled chicken in creamy dressing and fried egg. Perhaps if Pepper Kitchen uses a more moist bread, the dish would become perfect, as the brown bread was becoming a tad bit dry.
The highlight of the meal has to be the makhni chicken pizza, that was replete with moist chunks of makhni chicken and was generously topped with gooey mozzarella pizza, making it an absolute winner dish.
Confession: Overall, my meal at The Pepper Kitchen turned out to be fairly good. There is scope for improvements in certain things, while some are simply great. I would definitely come back to try the makhni chicken pizza!
