It’s classy, it’s elegant and it is slowly gaining popularity in India, wine, though might come across as a complex drink to understand, happens to be a favourite of mine. Several health experts have suggested that this elixir is replete with anti-oxidants and is good for the heart, too! Now I am not sure if that is true or not, but my love for wine wouldn’t diminish either way.
If you’re one who shares the love for wine, as much as I do, then The Wine Company is one place that you must definitely add in your places to visit list.
Located on the ground floor at DLF Cyber Hub in Gurgaon, The Wine Company has chic and elegant interiors at its disposal. With an option of indoor and outdoor seating, the place becomes perfect for good and bad weather alike. Equipped with a wide variety of wines and a wall adorned with the beautiful green tinted bottles, The Wine Company has got your back, not only with drinks but with food as well, offering a menu that has some great European grub.
The sundried tomatoes and caramelised onions bruschetta topped with brie is the perfect light snack to start the meal with or go in for the juicy lamb patty sliders that are topped with bocconcini. The karari roti is something that you cannot miss on to when visiting The Wine Company. The perfect chakhna to any drink, this is one dish that you’d spot on every table at The Wine Company. The fish and chips with tartar sauce is one dish that could be skipped as there are plenty other great options on the menu to choose from. Pair your starters with a bubbly peach sangria that goes beautifully well with the light nibblers or the slightly sweet green apple sangria, that has a beautiful hint of star anise.
Conclude the meal on a sweet note with the harmless creme caramel that has a velvety smooth texture and is topped with berries or the devilish and indulgent warm chocolate mud cake that has a crunchy tuile in the centre and is topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Confession: Overall, a meal at The Wine Company is something that one should definitely look forward to. Don’t forget to pair your food with the perfect wine, or rather, the perfect sangria, because they certainly know how to get that right. The menu is a little long and picking the best could pose an issue, but simply ask for recommendations and you’ll be good to go.
